Stablecoin issuer Tether has acquired an additional 8,888 bitcoins in the first quarter of 2025, valued at approximately $735 million. This purchase brings Tether's total Bitcoin holdings to over 100,000 BTC, making it one of the largest single holders of the cryptocurrency. The latest acquisition increases the total value of Tether's Bitcoin reserves to approximately $8.29 billion, according to on-chain data. The company now ranks as the sixth-largest holder of Bitcoin in a single wallet. Tether's strategy includes allocating 15% of its profits to purchase Bitcoin, bolstering its reserves and demonstrating confidence in the digital asset.
